About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Center Technician for full-time work in Singapore, SG. This is an on-site position supporting mission-critical infrastructure at premier data center facilities.
Engagement Type
Hourly, contract-based, dispatch assignments
Work availability depends on client demand and project requirements
No guaranteed minimum hours or fixed full-time schedule
Assignments may range from a few hours to a full day or longer
On-site work at data center facilities in Singapore
Technicians must be comfortable working independently and coordinating with remote teams
Night, weekend, and short-notice assignments may be required
Key Responsibilities
Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations as assigned
Execute structured cabling tasks involving copper and fiber optics
Perform server racking, stacking, and equipment labeling
Handle cross-connects and patch panel work
Troubleshoot physical connectivity and hardware issues
Document completed work with photos, detailed notes, and ticket updates
Coordinate with remote NOC teams, project managers, and client representatives
Follow site procedures, safety requirements, and work authorization processes
Requirements
2+ years data center or IT infrastructure experience
Strong cabling skills (Cat5e/6/6a, single-mode/multi-mode fiber)
Experience with server hardware (Dell, HP, Supermicro)
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in raised floor environments
Own transportation and ability to work on-site
Professional communication skills in English
Data center certifications (CDCP, CDCS, or similar) - preferred
Network certifications (CCNA, CompTIA Network+) - preferred
Experience with DCIM and ticketing systems - preferred
Familiarity with major colocation providers - preferred
Standard tools: screwdrivers, cable testers, label makers, fiber inspection equipment
