Located in Amsterdam Zuid-Oost, the AMS3 Data Center by Switch Datacenters is a modern, high-efficiency facility engineered for Tier 3+ performance, AI workloads, and enterprise-grade scalability. Originally a logistics building, AMS3 was fully converted into a state-of-the-art data center in 2017, tailored to the demands of hyperscale tenants and cloud-native infrastructures. Its first tenant—a leading global digital platform—has helped shape the facility's standards for resiliency, power density, and energy efficiency. With a low PUE of 1.15 and advanced indirect adiabatic cooling infrastructure, AMS3 sets a benchmark for sustainable operation in an urban data center environment. The upcoming 2026 expansion will increase total IT capacity to 7 MW, with a further 20 MW planned, and introduce dry cooling systems designed to support liquid direct-to-chip and hybrid air cooling—enabling high-density AI compute without compromising on water use or energy efficiency. Situated in the Amsterdam South East business district, AMS3 offers close proximity to major carriers, financial hubs, and tech campuses. The site is exceptionally well-connected to local and international network providers, making it an ideal fit for low-latency interconnection, hybrid IT, and second-site deployments in the Dutch capital.
