Colocation Services in Bangalore: How It Works

Reboot Monkey sells colocation in partner data centres in Bangalore: the rack space itself, the network connectivity with IP transit and leased IP addresses, the data-centre hardware (servers and network equipment), and the service that delivers, installs and supports it, all under one agreement. CtrlS Bangalore DC1 stands on Veer Sandra. Reboot Monkey confirms free space and power in the facility before it names a building or a date, so the contract matches the customer's actual power, network and access requirements rather than a generic listing. Delivery starts with that space and power check, continues through installation by Reboot Monkey engineers, and ends with the rack live and monitored. A request for colocation in Bangalore begins with a description of the equipment, the power draw and the network requirement; Reboot Monkey then checks available space and power in the candidate facility before quoting, since colocation prices are quoted per facility and rack size. Once the facility is confirmed, hardware is shipped or sourced, rack and stack work is scheduled, and cross connects and carrier circuits are ordered from the facility operator and the carriers present on site. The result is a single agreement covering the rack, the network and the support that follows it, rather than separate contracts with a landlord, a carrier and an installation contractor.

What We Deliver

Once a rack is live in Bangalore, Reboot Monkey engineers carry out the physical and technical work the customer's equipment needs on an ongoing basis. Remote hands cover physical tasks carried out on the customer's instruction, such as reboots, cable checks, component swaps and visual checks, while smart hands cover technical work that needs diagnostic judgement and configuration knowledge. Rack and stack work installs, mounts and cables new hardware as it arrives, and server migration moves equipment between racks, rooms or facilities when a customer needs to consolidate or relocate. When hardware reaches end of life, data center decommissioning removes and disposes of it, and IT asset disposition covers data wiping, on-site shredding or degaussing, collection and transport, with resale or buyback quoted case by case; this work is processed by Reboot Monkey staff in a partner's processing facility or on the customer's site. Hardware monitoring is handled by the Reboot Monkey NOC, which monitors the customer's servers and network equipment on an ongoing basis.

Types of Colocation

Colocation in Bangalore is contracted as either a shared rack or a dedicated rack, and the choice determines how the customer's equipment is accessed day to day. In a shared rack, only Reboot Monkey engineers handle the customer's equipment, since the rack also holds other customers' hardware. In a dedicated rack, the customer can visit its own equipment, escorted by Reboot Monkey under the building's access rules, with the escort arranged on request. Sify ITPL - Bangalore stands on Sify Technologies Ltd. For every customer site, a second, briefed Reboot Monkey engineer is named as backup, so coverage does not depend on a single individual being available. Network connectivity is sold alongside the rack rather than as a separate line item: Reboot Monkey orders the cross connects and carrier circuits from the facility operator and the carriers present in the facility, and Reboot Monkey engineers install and patch the cabling inside the customer's rack. This applies equally to shared and dedicated racks; the difference between the two types is physical access to the equipment, not the network or support model behind it.

Why Reboot Monkey

Reboot Monkey is a third-party datacenter services operator: it sells rack space, IP transit, leased IP addresses, network connectivity, data-centre hardware and the services that deliver, install and support them, inside data centres that other companies own and run. It is not a hosting company and does not own the buildings where it works. Netmagic Bangalore DC02 stands on Plot. For a customer with equipment in more than one city or country, this means one agreement can cover colocation, network and support across every facility Reboot Monkey works in, instead of a separate contract per building. Prices for colocation, and for the remote hands, smart hands and other services around it, are quoted on request and depend on the customer and the size of the job, so the rack size, the network requirement and the scope of ongoing support are set before work begins, not estimated afterward.

How Reboot Monkey Works

These terms apply in every facility in Bangalore where Reboot Monkey engineers work.
