Colocation in Munich: How It Works
Reboot Monkey sells colocation in partner data centres: the rack space, the network connectivity with IP transit and leased IP addresses, the data-centre hardware (servers and network equipment), and the service that delivers, installs and supports it, all under one agreement. Equinix MU1/MU3 - Munich stands on Seidlstrasse in Munich. A request starts with a short description of what you need: how many racks or what rack size, the expected power draw, the network you want in the rack and who needs physical access. Reboot Monkey confirms free space and power in the facility before it names a building or a date, so the quote you receive refers to capacity that exists. Colocation prices are quoted per facility and rack size, and prices are quoted on request, depending on the customer and the size of the job. Once the space is agreed, Reboot Monkey engineers deliver and install the hardware in the rack and handle the cabling. From then on the same agreement covers the support of that equipment, so there is one party to call for the rack, the network and the physical work around it.

What We Deliver
Colocation is the base of the agreement, and the physical services are what keep it running day to day. These are the services Reboot Monkey engineers carry out around a colocated rack in Munich:
- Rack and stack: installing, mounting and cabling new hardware in your rack.
- Remote hands: physical tasks carried out on your instruction, such as reboots, cable checks, component swaps and visual checks.
- Smart hands: technical work that needs diagnostic judgement and configuration knowledge.
- Server migration: moving equipment between racks, rooms or facilities.
- Hardware monitoring: monitoring of your servers and network equipment by the Reboot Monkey NOC.
- Data center decommissioning and IT asset disposition (ITAD): removal of retired hardware, data wiping, on-site shredding or degaussing, collection and transport, with resale or buyback quoted case by case.
Types of Colocation
Colocation comes in two forms that differ in who handles the equipment: a shared rack and a dedicated rack. The choice mostly depends on how much hardware you place and how often your own staff need to be at the equipment. In a shared rack, only Reboot Monkey engineers handle your equipment. You send the hardware or order it through Reboot Monkey, and the engineers install it, cable it and carry out later changes on your instruction. This suits a smaller footprint where physical visits are rare and the work is routine. With a dedicated rack, you can visit your equipment. Visits are escorted by Reboot Monkey under the building's access rules, and the escort is arranged on request. In both forms the network is part of the offer. Reboot Monkey orders the cross connects and carrier circuits from the facility operator and from the carriers present in the facility, and its engineers install and patch the cabling in your rack. IP transit and leased IP addresses are sold with the rack, so connectivity does not need a separate contract.
Why Reboot Monkey
Colocation buyers often end up managing several parties: one for the space, one for the carrier, one for the hardware and one for the hands on site. Reboot Monkey replaces that with a single agreement and a single point of contact for the rack, the network, the hardware and the physical work. Reboot Monkey is a third-party datacenter services operator, not a hosting company and not a datacenter owner, so the space is contracted in the facility that fits your requirements rather than in a building chosen for Reboot Monkey's own benefit. Continuity on site is handled by naming people in advance: a second, briefed Reboot Monkey engineer is named as backup for every customer site, so a planned absence does not leave your rack without someone who knows it. In Munich, the same approach applies across the buildings in the city. EMC Home of Data MUC I/II - MuCon-X stands on Elisabeth-Selbert-Str in Munich. As of 2026, Reboot Monkey's field engineers work in 190 countries and more than 400 locations. For a company with racks in Munich and elsewhere, that means one agreement can follow the equipment to another city when a migration or an expansion requires it.
How Reboot Monkey Works
These terms apply in every facility in Munich where Reboot Monkey engineers work.
- Response: 1-hour, around-the-clock incident response SLA, and a 15 minute premium response available where technicians are stationed on-site, as a paid add-on. The incident response SLA covers incidents and unplanned requests; on-site, dispatch and resolution times, priority tiers, and planned or scheduled work are agreed per site in the service agreement.
- Monitoring: 24/7 NOC monitoring across all facilities, covering IPMI, iDRAC, SNMP, temperature, power, network signals.
- Hardware: vendor-neutral technicians for Dell, HP, Cisco, Juniper and Arista equipment.
- Independence: independent from facility operators (not Equinix SmartHands, not NTT staff).
- One agreement: single provider across cities, so a customer in several cities needs only one agreement.
- Service levels and terms: https://www.rebootmonkey.com/en/solutions/sla
- Published case study: a major ICT provider engaged Reboot Monkey for three full infrastructure rollouts in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad, with the hardware installed the same day at every site. Colocation in Other Cities in Germany
If your deployment spans more than one German city, the same agreement and the same services are available beyond Munich. Space and power are confirmed per facility before a building is named, so each city is quoted on its own. For a second site in the north, see Colocation in Hamburg, and for a deployment in the Rhine-Main area, see Colocation in Frankfurt.
