About the RoleJoin Reboot Monkey as a Data Center Technician in Taipei, Taiwan. This is an onsite, independent contractor position supporting critical infrastructure at data center facilities.Technicians will support assignments in or near Taipei, based on client requirements and available dispatches.The role is primarily focused on hands-on data center operations, including rack-and-stack, server installation and decommissioning, structured cabling, hardware replacement, and physical troubleshooting. Depending on experience and assignment requirements, some technicians may also support networking configuration and more advanced technical tasks.CompensationHourly contract rate – based on experience and assignment requirementsTechnicians are paid for the actual hours worked on each assignment.There is no guaranteed 8-hour workday or fixed number of hours per week.Rates and assignment terms will be discussed during the recruitment process.Any applicable travel allowance or additional assignment compensation will be confirmed based on the assignment.Work SetupIndependent contractor / freelance arrangementOn-demand, dispatch-based assignmentsFlexible scheduling depending on client requirementsSome assignments may require only a few hours, while others may require longer onsite supportAssignments may occur during regular hours, nights, weekends, or on short noticeTechnicians should be comfortable working independently onsite with minimal supervisionWork is generally within or near the technician's local areaPlease note: This is not a traditional full-time position. Assignments and schedules vary based on client demand, and there are no guaranteed weekly hours.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, rack, stack, and decommission server and network equipmentPerform structured cabling, including copper and fiber-optic connectionsRoute, label, patch, and organize data center cablingReplace server hardware components such as drives, RAM, power supplies, NICs, and other field-replaceable componentsPerform physical troubleshooting of servers, network equipment, power, and connectivity issuesAssist with equipment deployments, migrations, and upgradesPerform basic connectivity checks and troubleshoot physical link issuesMaintain accurate asset records, documentation, and ticket updatesFollow site procedures, technical instructions, maintenance windows, and safety requirementsCoordinate with project managers, remote engineers, and data center personnelComplete assigned tasks independently and escalate issues when necessaryAdditional Technical ResponsibilitiesFor technicians with demonstrated advanced experience, assignments may also include:Cisco or Juniper switch and router configurationVLANs and basic routing configurationSFP/QSFP and transceiver troubleshooting or replacementAdvanced network and server troubleshootingData center migrations and infrastructure upgradesComplex connectivity troubleshooting and root cause analysisAutomation or scripting where required by the assignmentWork AuthorizationCandidates must already have the legal right to work in Taiwan.This is an independent contractor engagement, not a traditional employee position.Reboot Monkey does not provide visa or work-permit sponsorship for these contract assignments.Candidates must be able to legally perform freelance/independent contractor work in Taiwan under their existing status.Candidates should not require employer sponsorship now or in the future.
