Data Center Migration in Paris
Euronext says its Paris market gathers more than 800 listed companies and is the home of the benchmark CAC 40 index. Paris also hosts the European Banking Authority and the European Securities and Markets Authority. For a finance or enterprise IT team, that concentration of institutions shapes where infrastructure sits, and it is the usual reason a physical move in this city has to be planned carefully around live production systems. Telehouse - Paris 2 (Voltaire - Léon Frot) stands on Boulevard Voltaire in Paris.
A migration in Paris is the movement of existing equipment between racks, rooms or facilities. The facility operator owns and runs the building, including its power, cooling and access policy, and Reboot Monkey engineers work under the operator's site rules. That means access arrangements are settled with the operator before the move date, not on the day.
France-IX, a French internet exchange founded in June 2010, operates points of presence in Paris, as well as in Marseille and Lyon. Where a move changes the network path, Reboot Monkey orders the cross connects and carrier circuits from the facility operator and the carriers present in the facility, so connectivity for the destination rack is arranged alongside the hardware move rather than after it.

Our Data Center Migration Services
A migration project is scoped around the equipment you are moving and the order in which it has to come back into service. The physical work typically breaks down as follows, and each step is agreed with you before it starts.
- Planning and inventory: the equipment to be moved, its source and destination positions, and the sequence in which systems are taken down and brought back.
- Disconnection and labelling: power and network cabling is identified and labelled at the source so it can be reconnected correctly at the destination.
- Installation and cabling: hardware is mounted in the destination rack and the network cabling is installed and patched in the customer's rack by Reboot Monkey engineers.
- Reconnection and testing: who reconnects and tests the equipment is agreed per project, either carried out by Reboot Monkey or handed to your own team.
- Handover: you receive confirmation of the finished work so the move can be signed off against the plan.
Why Reboot Monkey
Reboot Monkey is a third-party datacenter services operator. It sells rack space, IP transit, leased IP addresses, network and data-centre hardware, together with the services that deliver, install and support them, inside data centres that other companies own and run. It is not a hosting company and does not own datacenters, so a migration is planned around your equipment and your destination, not around capacity of its own to fill.
The division of work on a migration is a decision you make. Reboot Monkey can run the whole physical move, or work alongside your own team where your engineers want to keep control of the logical side. A second, briefed Reboot Monkey engineer is named as backup for every customer site, so the project does not depend on a single person being available on the day.
As of 2026, Reboot Monkey's field engineers work in 190 countries and more than 400 locations. For a company moving equipment out of Paris to another country, or consolidating several sites, the same operator can handle the work at both ends of the move. Prices are quoted on request and depend on the customer and the size of the job.
How Reboot Monkey Works
These terms apply in every facility in Paris where Reboot Monkey engineers work.
- Response: 1-hour, around-the-clock incident response SLA, and a 15 minute premium response available where technicians are stationed on-site, as a paid add-on. The incident response SLA covers incidents and unplanned requests; on-site, dispatch and resolution times, priority tiers, and planned or scheduled work are agreed per site in the service agreement.
- Monitoring: 24/7 NOC monitoring across all facilities, covering IPMI, iDRAC, SNMP, temperature, power, network signals.
- Hardware: vendor-neutral technicians for Dell, HP, Cisco, Juniper and Arista equipment.
- Independence: independent from facility operators (not Equinix SmartHands, not NTT staff).
- One agreement: single provider across cities, so a customer in several cities needs only one agreement.

- Published case study: a major ICT provider engaged Reboot Monkey for three full infrastructure rollouts in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad, with the hardware installed the same day at every site. A migration rarely stands alone. When the source site is being closed, the retired hardware has to be removed and disposed of, which is the work covered by [Data Center Decommissioning in Paris](/en/data-center-decommissioning/france/paris/). When new hardware arrives to replace or extend what is moving, it has to be mounted and cabled, and [Rack and Stack in Paris](/en/rack-and-stack/france/paris/) handles that installation. If the destination is a new rack in a shared facility, [Colocation in Paris](/en/colocation/france/paris/) provides the space and connectivity to receive the equipment.
Planning these together keeps the project on one timeline: the destination is ready before equipment leaves the source, and the source is cleared once the new environment is accepted.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does data center migration cover in Paris?
Data center migration in Paris covers moving equipment between racks, rooms or facilities. Reboot Monkey can run the whole physical move or work alongside your own team, and who disconnects, reconnects and tests the equipment is agreed per project. Reboot Monkey orders the cross connects and carrier circuits and installs and patches the cabling in your rack.
Do you work in every datacenter in Paris?
Reboot Monkey engineers work in any facility in Paris where the customer has equipment and access, under the operator's own access and safety rules. The customer adds the engineers to the facility's access list before the first visit.
How fast can Reboot Monkey respond in Paris?
Incidents and unplanned requests are handled under a 1-hour, around-the-clock incident response SLA. There is also a 15 minute premium response available where technicians are stationed on-site, as a paid add-on. On-site, dispatch and resolution times, priority tiers, and planned or scheduled work are agreed per site in the service agreement.
How is Reboot Monkey different from the facility operator's own staff?
Facility operators' own technicians work for the building. Reboot Monkey engineers work for the customer: they are independent from facility operators (not Equinix SmartHands, not NTT staff), follow the customer's instructions, and the same team can cover several buildings in the city under one agreement.
How do I get started with data center migration in Paris?
Send the site, the equipment and the task through the contact form. Reboot Monkey replies with a quote and an engineer plan for that facility. Once agreed, the customer adds the engineers to the facility's access list and the data center migration work is scheduled under the operator's rules.
